GabiX Live Maker

GabiX Live Maker
An easy way for creating Linux live systems :-)

What is GabiX Live Maker?
GabiX Live Maker is a set of tools for creating Live Linux systems in an easy and practical way.

With it in hands you can create your own system your way!

It is developed from the disassembly of the Linux boot process into separate modules that can be modified, hacked and customized (kernel, initrd, mounts, etc.). It also involves changes in Debian GNU/Linux for it to deal with the system demands. So, GabiX Live Maker is Debian based.

How to use it?
GabiX Live Maker can be used in many ways. It all depends on what you want to do with it! ;-) GNOME, XFCE4, FluxBox, etc. Choose your favorite desktop and there it will be! Waiting for you!
Do you prefer another web browser? Want to replace the PDF reading software? Just pick yours and there it will be!
In fact, all you have to do is install your favorite software on the system. Ease! That's the main idea behind it! :-)

What else it can do?
* GabiX Live Maker is capable of creating x86 and x86_64 live systems.
* It can also detect, during its boot, and use Nvidia cards with the latest drivers.
* GabiX Live Maker can also boot a locally installed Linux system.
* It has its own busybox based shell that you can use to perform some basic rescue actions.
* It has the good old memory test tool ;-).
* GabiX Live Maker can use the Debian installation system in its boot menu.
* Other than that it does what you configure it to do! ;-)
* Its configuration file is easy to read and is well commented.

What kernel does GabiX Live Maker use?
GabiX Live Maker has a kernel configured towards the configuration used by great distros, such as Debian and Ubuntu. It is also adjusted to support UnionFS and other features.
And if you are not familiar with kernels, don't worry because GabiX Live Maker has its tools to help you with the tasks involving kernels replacement.

How is it built?
The building process is split into levels and managed by a simple Makefile. Just type make to build a single level or make all to build the whole system until you get an ISO file.
Everything is documented and the configuration file is very easy to read.

This page will always be under construction, during the development of GabiX Live Maker, acting as a repository for the latest news and versions.
